How to Change the Font in League of Legends

Before even starting- to talk about how you can change it, it is critical to define what a game font is. For those of you who don’t know, the games in the past were nothing but mere words. Many had to deliver instructions to their players by using simple texts, not always pleasant to the eye- of the gamer.

With the uprising popularity of the gaming industry and the newer games, these simple texts have changed. From something boring that people got tired of seeing, they turned- into something iconic for various games.

We all know that the best part of the game is the gameplay itself.

The various champions in the League of Legends. Their skills, mechanics, and even skins. Although this is ultimately what provides the players with fun, don’t you feel happy when you see the big “Victory” after a gaming session?

Gaming fonts are exactly- this: the big texts you see in the game, after the game, or even before the game starts. The logo of the company that produced the game. Or the name of League of Legends itself. All these texts are game fonts.

To put it simply and short, every text you see in, after, or before the game is a game font. Be it- the gaming logo, text in the game, menu texts, or after-game credits. In the League of Legends, good examples are “Victory,” “Pentakill,” “Ace,” “Your legend starts here,” “League of Legends,” and even the champion names and so on. All of them are things that can make the hearts of the fans beat faster with excitement when they see them, and that’s exactly- the purpose of fonts in the modern gaming industry.

Why Change The Game Font?

That is a good question. Given the fact that game fonts, in general, are made to be liked by the players, Some may still want to change them to something else. For example, if you have played League of Legends for a long time, there is no way that you haven’t noticed the changes in the fonts throughout the years. From logos to menus and in-game texts, Even the item ones change and will- continue to do so.

So there are many who prefer, for example, the older game fonts like the logo or the text in the game. This type of person is probably one of those who- are currently reading this. Here is some good news for you. Although it may sound impossible to change a game font. If you stay with us and keep reading, I’m sure you’ll see the best way to do so.

Let’s get back on track. Now, wanting to change a game logo to an older one or the in-game text is something that is up to your own preferences and taste. As I said above, most of the game fonts change according to what people want, as the goal of companies like Riot is to please their fan community.

Of course, that is not always the case. For example, with the last update and the changes in League of Legends with the tiers of armor and logo, you can call it however you want. The font changed, and people- are not very pleased with it. You could see how many disliked them due to the new design and even wanted the old one to come back. That is a good- example of why someone may want to learn how to change their game font. Now keep reading below to find out the ways to do it.

How To Change The Game Font?

Now it’s time to show you how to change your game font. When we talk about this, it’s mainly for the in-game fonts, but it’s still better than nothing, right?

To start, there are two easy options, which you can try and see if they work for you.

The first one works with fonts, which are already present in different versions- of the game. For example, the most popular topic is how to change your League of Legends font in North America to have the one from the South Korean server.

As I said, this is a simple example of how you can do it. Just follow the steps, which are very similar to the way, to change your resolution without even opening League of Legends.

The first thing you have to do is to find your game location. The place where you have League installed. For example, it can be D:\Riot Games\League of Legends. You have to find and open the RADS folder from there find projects, then lol_air_client then releases, you’ll see the version number then deploy, and lastly ccs.

Should look like that D:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_air_client\releases\version number\deploy\css.

From then you have to rename “fonts_ko_KR.swf” to “fonts_ko_KR2.swf” / “fonts.swf” to “fonts_ko_KR.swf” / “fonts_ko_KR2.swf” to “fonts.swf”

That is the common way which you will see on the internet.

Although this will probably not be the best option, I can suggest a far better one which you can try at your own risk.

By far, the best option when it comes to changing game fonts is by using mods, apps, or various software, which are classified as third-party extensions by the game and can get you banned.

If the words from above can make you hesitate, then the best option is to find such software, which is not hard to find, by the way. Especially if you are dealing with League of Legends.

Now I can write the name of the software, but most of you probably heard about it from friends, because it’s a big thing. It lets you change the look of your frame, armor, map, skins, and more. It is very simple to find it and get it to work.

Again, this is not something that is particularly good to do, as it can get your account banned and make you lose your progress, loot, skins, etc. If you decide to try to use it, be careful how you use it and do not boost with it. Although Riot knows well about this software, it is still available as it brings more people to their games, but this is still not a guarantee that you will not get punished for using a third-hand Extention.

Conclusion

Changing a game font is not impossible. It is actually quite easy to do so with particular software. You can do this in many games, be they online or single-player ones. You just need the specific software or mod, and you are ready to go. Although it’s not very legal to use them, they are probably the best option if you are unhappy with the official game fonts. In the end, these tools are far better than the first way or any other found on Google, as they definitely work.

Lastly, as advice, always keep in mind what you are doing. It is not recommended- to publicly announce if you use one, and definitely not for streamers. By far, the best option is just to go with the current game fonts, as they are aimed at what players like and are always improving based on community feedback. Thank you for reading this article.
