What’s the Most Powerful Dragon Soul in Season 12?

Dragons are powerful creatures in League of Legends that offer players substantial rewards for slaying them. Getting dragons is extremely important since they can provide your team with a massive boost, which can be the difference between victory and defeat.

If you are a newer player or are still figuring out the game, you might notice that there are multiple dragons. Not all of them spawn at once and each game will have a different dragon. Every one of the dragons has its own special buffs that they grant and can change the map accordingly.

The best dragon soul in League of Legends right now is the Cloud Soul. Since it has the highest win rate, the Cloud Soul performs the best with most of the champions. The worst one right now is the Ocean Soul.

If you are curious to know more about each individual soul and why they are placed in the order they are on the list, continue reading to find out. Keep in mind that we will talk about the worst soul first and move up from there. With that said, let’s dive right in and get started!

Ocean Soul

Starting off with the worst dragon soul in League of Legends right now, the Ocean Soul. While it has a win rate of 90%, the soul is only beneficial to a select few champions. Also, keep in mind that these win rates are in the high elo. So, you might not find the same results in Iron, Bronze, Silver, or even Gold.

The Soul emphasizes increasing your sustain in combat. Dealing damage to enemies heals you for 160 (+ 36% bonus AD) (+ 22.5% AP) (+ 9% bonus health) and restores 80 (+ 3.5% maximum mana) mana over 4 seconds. Damage to minions and monsters regenerates with 30% effectiveness

This is a good soul to have on champions that thrive off of healing like Vladimir and Kayn just to name a few off the top of my head. These champions will be almost unkillable and you can easily carry the game.

However, if you are playing someone like Lux or other mages or supports, you will not have a fun time with this soul. It is essentially useless for most champions in the game.

Infernal Soul

Before I talk about this soul, I know people will be angry in the comments. However, hear me out before pulling out the pitchforks. While the Infernal Soul is amazing and I love the damage it offers, it isn’t the best due to a few reasons.

First of all, it has a win rate of 90.9% – barely a little higher than the Ocean Soul. Plus, the other souls that we will talk about later offer better stats and transform the map which benefits you. The Infernal Soul will burn a few walls, making it easier for the enemy to attack you.

Once you get the soul, your basic attacks and abilities will trigger an explosion around the target, dealing 80 (+ 22.5% bonus AD) (+ 13.5% AP) (+ 2.75% bonus health) adaptive damage to the target and nearby enemies.

This is a good passive to have which makes it easier to burst enemies. However, if you are not significantly ahead or something, the extra damage won’t help you out a lot. I can’t deny that it is quite useful at clearing minions, though.

Hextech Soul

The Hextech Soul is a new one in League of Legends that was introduced alongside the Chemtech Soul. However, due to changing the game in a negative way, the Chemtech Soul was removed. The Hextech Soul has a win rate of 91%, making it a good soul to have.

Now, if you get the Hextech Soul, you will gain the following stats:

Dealing damage to an enemy with basic attacks or ability damage causes them to be struck with electricity. This is considered as true damage and also slows them as well. The slow can stack from multiple sources, and the decay rate is decreased against ranged champions.

This soul is extremely beneficial since it will allow you to do what the Infernal Soul does but better. While it doesn’t offer you flat damage, it will allow you to deal additional damage to all enemies. All the while, you are also slowing them and clearing the wave faster.

Mountain Soul

The Mountain Soul has a win rate of 91.1%, giving it a slight edge over the Hextech Soul. Once this soul spawns, it creates additional walls across the map which makes it difficult for you to know where the enemy is. This means that you will have to ward more effectively.

Plus, the stats that it offers are insane. The Mountain Dragon Soul only adds to that. After not taking damage for 5 seconds, you will gain a shield.

This shield is a great tool to have in your arsenal since it protects you from a lot of damage. If you are a squishy champion or are behind in gold than the enemy team, the Mountain Soul might just be your saving grace.

That additional shield is the bane of any assassin’s existence!

Cloud Soul

Finally, moving on to the best soul in the game, the Cloud Soul. It has a whopping win rate of 92.8%, meaning that any team that gets this soul will most likely win the game. If the Cloud Soul spawns in, the Rift will change and have special areas where you can move swiftly.

This allows both teams to walk faster to various objectives and gank the lanes as well. During this time, make sure that you have plenty of control wards all around the place so that you know when you are getting ganked.

Plus, once you kill the Cloud dragon, your team will gain additional out-of-combat movement speed. On top of that, your team will also gain slow resistance as well.

Once you get the soul, though, you will receive all the aforementioned benefits along with a new one. The soul grants a 10% bonus movement speed to your entire team which is increased to 60% bonus movement speed for 6 seconds after casting your ultimate ability.

Due to this, you will easily chase the enemy and run circles around them. That is why the Cloud Soul is the best in Season 12 right now.
