How Much LP Is Needed To Rank Up in Teamfight Tactics?

Whatโ€™s up, Teamfight Tactics players? We hope you are doing well and collecting those League Points. In this article, we will write about a topic that interests many players: the ranking system in Teamfight Tactics.

As you know, if you are already a loyal fan of this League of Legends spin-off game, the ranking system is a bit different from the classic one we are used to while playing League of Legends.

Stay with us, and we will explain how the Teamfight Tactics ranking system works, what its differences are compared to the League of Legends ranking system, and how to win those League Points as quickly as possible.

For all those who still donโ€™t know (shame on you!), 2019 was the year when Riot Games has released a new game that soon started gathering loyal players and still continues to build its popularity with each new update.

This game is called Teamfight Tactics, and itโ€™s basically a spin-off of League of Legends, an auto-battler game where you have to think tactically and make moves that will make you last man standing among other 7 players.

Like the League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics also has a ranking system where players move from one tier to another and try to reach the top of the ladder where there is room only for the best players.

A Guide To The Teamfight Tactics Ranking System

We will start from the basic information; in Teamfight Tactics, there are also nine tiers, and each of them has four levels that need to be passed in order to move to a higher (or fall to a lower) rank.

Ranks are the same as in the League of Legends, starting from the lowest they are โ€“ Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger as the highest rank.

We have to consider that Teamfight Tactics is a relatively new game, so Riot often tests new content and features, thus giving players the opportunity to play ranked matches right from level one.

We all know that in the League of Legends, ranked matches can only start when you have reached level 30. Also, you can play ranked matches with your friends.

You have to be Gold tier or lower for a party of five, and for a party of three, you have to be a Platinum tier or higher.

Letโ€™s Talk About Ranked Seasons

In Teamfight Tactics, ranked seasons last much shorter than one ranked season in the League of Legends. Basically, a new ranked season starts every few months, which means that Teamfight Tactics has an average of three or four ranked seasons in one year.

These ranked seasons are related to the Sets. Sets are a familiar term to all Teamfight Tactics players as each Set brings a new pool unit, unique items, and other stuff which enhances the whole game.

The current season started in November 2021, and we still donโ€™t know when it will end, sometimes in February, 2022, we think.

What About Promotions In Teamfight Tactics?

Remember Sets? Well, Sets are crucial to understanding the Teamfight Tactics ranking system. New units, champions, abilities, etc., appear with each new Set.

That means you have to keep up with the new Sets in order to learn how to play the new mechanics that the new Set has brought with it. Riot again does the soft reset, as in League of Legends, it si when your MMR is pulled closer to the median value.

At the beginning of your Teamfight Tactics ranked journey, you will be placed in the Iron tier, and you will have to play five placement matches to show your gaming skill and get out of the Iron tier.

Furthermore, Riot has not yet introduced a promotion series in Teamfight Tactics, so when you collect 100 League Points, you immediately move on to the next division and carry the rest of the League Points with you.

Another important piece of information: players do not lose League Points if they finish the game in one of the first four places, including fourth place, and do not get League Points if they finish the game in fifth place or places behind fifth.

Try to finish among the first four places; the higher your rank, the more League Points you will get, and vice versa.

Rules Of Demotions And Decays

If you are in the Master, Grandmaster, or Challenger division, you bank up 10 games while one banked game is removed every day. If a player does not have a banked game to lose, he loses 250 League Points instead. Decay, however, only applies to the top players in the game, and there is no decay in provisional matches.

Also, a player cannot demote out of Master from decay. From his division or tier, a player can be demoted only if he loses while at the same time having zero League Points. Watch out for MMR also, and you can be demoted to a lower tier or division if you have zero League Points and if your MMR is too low for your current ranking.

What About Rewards For The Best Players At The End Of Teamfight Tactics Ranked Season?

Rewards are waiting for you at the end of the season, and you just have to show your outstanding gaming skill throughout the season to be eligible to receive awards. And we know how generous Riot can be.

If you want to win any prize, you have to finish the season at least in the Gold tier. The prizes consist of emotes and Little Legends, and itโ€™s up to you to get the biggest and most valuable prize.

Thatโ€™s why you have to invest a lot of effort, will, and time during matches during the ranked season.

You must not give up, and you must constantly work on your gaming skill to increase your MMR. Also, if you want to change the server after the season ends, your MMR and win prizes will be waiting for you on the new server.

Final Thoughts

And thatโ€™s it! This was a guide on the Teamfight Tactics ranking system and how it differs from the League of Legends ranking system.

The Teamfight Tactics ranking system also has nine tiers; each of the tiers has four levels โ€“ just like in the League of Legends, they are ranked from Iron as the worst tier to Challenger as the best tier.

Keep in mind if youโ€™re embarking on a Teamfight Tactics ranked adventure that the ranked season here is shorter than you might be used to when playing League of Legends.

There can be three or four ranked seasons during the year, and at the end of each season, your rank is locked, and your account gets a soft reset at the beginning of the next season.

You can also try to play with your friends so you may be more successful in reaching higher tiers with teamwork, ideal strategy, and communication with your friends.

In terms of rewards, Riot rewards players who have finished the season in the Gold tier or higher. So do your best if you want those emotes and Little Legends as rewards for a successful season.

That sum up, we can say that the Teamfight Tactics ranking system is much easier to progress and have good results; you need to collect 100 League Points to move to the next tier, which means you do not have to play additional promo series. Isnโ€™t this great?

So, if you havenโ€™t already, now is the best time to start playing this addictive game and be among the best at the end of the season. Good luck and have fun!
