League of Legends is an extremely popular game that is played by millions of players every single day. As such, there are hundreds of champions and thousands of skins for them. Various skins appeal to various players.
Riot has released tons of successful skin lines over the years that have their own franchises such as KD/A and Star Guardians. One such line is called the Prestige skins. These skins are luxurious, elegant, and gold in color. Do you want to know how much these extravagant skins will cost you? Find out below!
Getting a Prestige skin in League of Legends can cost you anywhere between $23 to $55 depending on which Pass you bought. However, if you want to buy the skin outright using Prestige Points, it can cost you more than $100 dollars.
If you want to know more about Prestige Points and Prestige skins, continue reading to find out. We will also talk about how you can get the Pass and get the skins for cheaper. Without further ado, let’s jump straight in and get started.
What Are Prestige Points?
Starting off with Prestige Points, what are they? Well, Prestige Points (PP) are the points that you need to collect to claim the Prestige skins. Each Prestige skin costs 100 PP. You can collect them in a number of ways.
However, Prestige Points were retired in patch 12.5 since they were extremely difficult to obtain and replaced with Mythic Essence instead.
How to Earn Mythic Essence?
Since Mythic Essence replaced Prestige Points, you should know how to collect it. The good news is that it is easier to collect than PP and having only one currency makes it much easier to keep track of things.
The first way to earn Mythic Essence in League of Legends is by buying Masterwork Chest Bundles. You can buy these bundles from the Riot Store for 165 RP. Keep in mind that you have to buy the entire bundle and not only the chest.
Depending on which bundle you bought, you will get that much Essence.
Next, you can earn Mythic Essence through in-game events that take place. There are tons of events that happen during various time periods so keep an eye out for them. Each event comes with its own missions which allow you to redeem the points earned by completing them to gain Mythic Essence.
This is a great way to earn the currency without actually spending money on the game. While it might take a long time to collect the amount of Essence you need, it is a great thing that Riot allows players to earn it without having to spend any money.
Finally, you can earn Essence by exchanging it with the tokens you earn by completing various even missions.
Can You Earn Prestige Skins Through Loot?
Prestige skins are quite rare and luxurious and only a few players can get them. Riot allowed players to get lucky and get them through loot boxes. However, after many players complained that most players have these skins without doing any effort, Riot decided to remove them from loot chests.
Now, you can only get them by spending the points and purchasing the skin. No matter how many chests you open up, you cannot get any Prestige skin currently in 2022. Who knows whether Riot will revert this change in the future or not?
